David Beckham joins Los Angeles Galaxy for $250 million!

One of the biggest deals in sport history was signed by 31 year old and former England captain David Beckham. He signed a five year deal for a total amount of $250 million. That means he will be earning $1 million per week! This deal comprises his salary, existing sponsorship contracts, merchandising shirt sales and a share of the club profits.
Regarding his experience in the Real Madrid, David said: "I have enjoyed my time in Spain enormously and I am extremely grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play for such a great team and their amazing fans”.
LA Galaxy general manager Alexei Lalas believes Beckham's arrival will give worldwide exposure to the football club and will shed some light on the high quality of football in the USA. He said: "One of the interesting things that I think people are going to see, is first off, the attention he's going to bring to the sport and to American soccer. The manager concluded saying "It's hard to quantify the positives from this deal, we are so excited”.
The reaction to the signing of Beckham to the club was seen within hours when LA Galaxy´s website was visited by thousands of people all over the world, the members of the club increased accordingly along with season tickets to watch his matches!
There are also rumors of a movie: will David become a movie star? Only time will tell. No doubt Victoria Beckham – wife and former Spice Girl singer- is thrilled with the idea!
