Britney Spears MTV long awaited-comeback

This was going to be the Britney's big triumphant long awaited-comeback. But as the troubled star struggled through her performance of her eagerly-anticipated single Gimme More on the recent MTV Video Music Awards, she showed no sign of reclaiming her former glory.
Wearing a black sequined bikini and knee-high boots, the 25-year-old singer, made a cringe-worthy debut of her new single after partying away any pre-performance nerves with a 48-hour bender.
The troubled singer opened the awards night after living it up in Vegas with Diddy and fellow revellers Paris Hilton and 50 Cent, and it seems that all that champagne and dancing on tables took its toll.
Spears lip-synched the song as women cavorted on stripper poles amid a flashy red background. At one point, the camera panned to rapper 50 Cent, sitting in the audience, who looked bewildered by the action on stage.
With lethargic movements and no longer boasting the buff body, the old pop princess was a clear reminder she is not back yet.
At times Britney just stopped singing altogether, as if even she knew nothing could save her performance.
A reviewer from an american entertainment magazine said: "Britney gallumphed around like a zombie," adding she performed like a "tentative, confused-looking girl who could barely muster the energy to mouth along with the backing track."
“Disjointed, underwhelming... and plain boring"…"out-of-shape Spears moved tentatively around the stage, getting totally outgrooved by her back-up dancers" were other reviews the pop-singer received.
A gossip columnist said: "She blew it"… "Everybody knows Britney lip-syncs, but that's because she dances so much. She barely even danced in this. It was so bad. It was painful. It was embarrassing. And I loved it!"
Also showing no mercy was comedian Sarah Silverman. When the performance was over she took to the stage, declaring that the singer's young children were "the most adorable mistakes you'll ever see."
